Luckyfarm77 was founded in 2019 by Linda Henningson and Petr Cizek. In 2008, they first started organic gardening and fruit cultivation on half an acre on Texada Island where they transformed a lawn-covered village lot into an intensive food garden. Linda and Petr now have 15 years of organic growing experience and they began commercial production at Luckyfarm77 this past season in 2022.
Linda Henningson has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from Emily Carr University. She has exhibited and sold work across Canada and New York City for the past two decades. Linda has lived in Vancouver, Whitehorse, and New York City where she worked with the Metropolitan Museum's Inner City Arts Program.
Petr Cizek has a Doctorate in Landscape Planning from the University of British Columbia. He is an award-winning land use planner and cartographer who has worked with First Nations and citizens groups across Canada for the past 30 years. Working with the Dehcho First Nations in the Northwest Territories, he helped design one of the world's largest protected area networks.
